Dogs caky
Q: I need to know why my dog eat it own caky, i want your opinion, i think that this is not normal thank you, maria
A: Consumption of feces (coprophagia) is a common but disturbing habit in dogs. the cause of this behavior is unknown, but this product is formulated to stop this. it is called "deter" and you can get information about it on our website.

Ear mites
Q: I just got a pug/beagle mix puppy who is 2 1/2 months old. she was diagnosed with ear mites and has received one treatment of acarexx. we also have another dog in the house, a 2 year old black lab/sharpee mix, who frequently plays with the puppy. as of now she does not show the same blackish- grainy discharge typical of ear mites. what are the chances she could catch it and can she still catch it after the ppuppy has received her first treatment? also, are ear mites communicable to humans, and if so what is the risk? thanks!
A: Not communciable to humans. also not likely other dog has problem if pup was treated once with that product

Bio spot
Q: I would like to know if bio spot is harmful to dogs my pet grommer sold me some said it was better than front line, but before using it i read up on it, i didn't like some of the things i read. could you please tell me if you find this product harmful to dogs,my dog is only 7 lbs. thank you cathie
A: Bio spot is safe to use on a 7 lb dog. follow the labeled directions for use and handling of the product.

Flea/tick treatment for 8 pound dog
Q: We have a year old chihuahua and he is about 8 pounds (7.70 lbs back in 08/03). we are looking at getting frontline plus and was wondering if it would be ok to get the small dog dosage for him. we also have a 24 pound pug we want to get on frontline plus as well but know which dosage to get him. what would you recommend? thanks. :-)
A: We cannot recommend using a product in a manner that contradicts the labeled instructions; therefore you would have to use the frontline topspot item #3088 on the chihuahua. for the pug, the frontline plus medium would be fine.(item 10458)
Shop for: frontline, frontline plus, frontline topspot

Frontline
Q: I didn't use all the frontline last year how long is it good for beyond expiration date?
A: Medications do not suddenly cease to work once they reach their expiration date. rather, the expiration date is the date beyond which the medicine begins to loose effectiveness and there can be no guarantee that the product will work as expected. as a pharmacist, i have to advise you that no medicine should be used beyond it's expiration date because of this potential lack of effectiveness..

Heart worm
Q: I want a pill form to give every 6 months is there one
A: There is no pill form that will give your pet 6 month protection.|we do have once a month products.

Household cleaning products
Q: I recently received an e-mail warning that swiffer wet jet used "anti-freeze" in their cleaning solution and that dogs and cats could develop necropsy of the liver by just licking their paws. is there any truth to this?
A: According to the manufacturer this is a false rumor. they claim there is no antifreeze in their product. they do caution, however, that pets stay off the newly mopped floor until the floor is dry.

Dosage
Q: Both of my dogs are taking heartguard.i forgot to give it to them last month. i started again this month. is it ok to skip one month on accident?
A: It is best not to skip. give the missed dose as soon as you recognize that the dose was missed and begin a new 30 day cycle from that point. the product has reminder stickers that can be used as an aid in remembering when to give the next dose.
